‎The World Bank has approved a $138 million grant for Zambia’s Green Growth and Climate Resilience Project .
In a statement, Green Economy and Environment Minister Mike Mposha said the funds will go towards the implementation of Phase Two of the Transforming Landscapes for Resilience and Development (TRALARD) Project.

‎The new five-year TRALARD initiative,  is set to run from January 2026 to December 2030, builds on the successes of the first phase of the TRALARD Initiative and will expand its scope from Luapula, Northern and Muchinga provinces. lt will also include Copperbelt and Southern provinces.

‎Mr Mposha stressed that this investment represents a significant milestone in advancing Zambia’s National Green Growth Strategy, which aims to create a low-carbon, resource-efficient and inclusive economy by 2030.

Mr Mposha added that the TRALARD phase two Project will not only safeguard our forests and water systems but also strengthen value chains, enhance market access and support climate-smart livelihoods for Zambia.
‎The project is expected to sustainably manage more than 680,000 hectares of land and strengthen climate resilience for over 650,000 vulnerable Zambians across the Miombo ecoregion.
